Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead AEM Architect to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale Adobe Experience Manager solutions for complex digital transformation programmes. This role requires ownership of technical architecture, delivery leadership across multiple workstreams, and accountability for solution quality, scalability, integrations, and business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in AEM as a Cloud Service, headless architecture, React-based front-end implementations, and enterprise integrations across multiple platforms and channels. You will act as a player-coach, providing architectural guidance while leading development teams and partnering with client stakeholders, solution architects, product owners, and delivery leadership.

This role is particularly suited for candidates who thrive in highly integrated ecosystems involving CMS, DAM, CRM, CDP, commerce, identity, analytics, and third-party platforms.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of enterprise web platform development and architecture experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on Adobe Experience Manager experience.
• 5+ years of experience with AEM as a Cloud Service.
• Proven experience leading large development teams (10+ engineers) across multiple workstreams.
• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise integrations.
• Experience implementing headless and hybrid-headless AEM architectures.
• Strong React.js and modern JavaScript ecosystem expertise.
• Experience engaging directly with client stakeholders and leading technical discussions.
• Ability to define architecture standards, engineering practices, and delivery governance.

Good to Have

• Adobe Certified Professional or Expert certifications.
• Experience with Edge Delivery Services (EDS).
• Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) integration experience.
• Adobe Commerce integration experience.
• Adobe Workfront and Fusion exposure.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Own solution architecture and technical direction for large-scale AEM programmes.
• Design scalable, secure, and maintainable AEM solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standards.
• Define headless, hybrid-headless, and traditional delivery patterns based on business requirements.
• Establish architecture guardrails, coding standards, and implementation best practices.
• Evaluate technical trade-offs and guide teams through architecture decisions.
• Create reusable integration patterns and reference architectures.

Enterprise Integrations

• Lead architecture and implementation for integrations with:

• Define and implement AEM Headless architectures using Content Fragments and GraphQL.
• Lead React-based front-end applications consuming AEM content services.
• Guide component architecture, state management, performance optimisation, and accessibility compliance.
• Establish best practices for scalable front-end engineering.

Delivery Leadership

• Lead multiple development teams and technical leads.
• Own delivery quality, estimation validation, and technical risk management.
• Drive architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical governance processes.
• Serve as the escalation point for critical technical issues.
• Coordinate delivery across architecture, engineering, QA, DevOps, and business teams.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary technical point of contact.
• Lead technical workshops, discovery sessions, and architecture reviews.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business-friendly language.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with client stakeholders.
